Questions regarding my 8 year old son.

Hello ~
I am new here and I am not sure where to ask this question. My son was having some intestinal issues for quite some time. Mostly he was having the need to use the restroom often and he had mucus in his stool. We thought that maybe he was developing lactose intolerance. However, on his last day of school he brought home a sports bottle that his teacher had him using in the classroom. When I opened it up the entire inside of the lid was full of pink / brownish mold. It was discusting. I am VERY upset about this. He has not had one issue since. He has eaten some dairy since as well. Not much, but some. Could this have caused his issues? If so, my main question is if this could have caused him any kind of long term issues or harm to any of his organs??? Is there anything that we can do for him?
