Yes I got a culture done when I was doing the "leave it alone" treatment last summer and I had those huge nasty crusts. And the culture showed staph.

The doctors believed that it was secondary but we treated it with Antibiotics anyways, and it did nothing. They just believed it came about by having those huge crusts on my lips for so long and having such poor oral hygiene while doing it.

But just in case I went and got a swab culture last week and I am awaiting the results. But my doctor and I fully expect them to come back negative.
