Re: Advice on Bowel Retraining after Enema dependancy
I believe enema dependancy has little to do with your constipation. Of course, if an enema is the only thing that makes you go, well then if you stop you're gonna have troubles. I was extremly constipated at some point (once a week) and of course very very sick. I did several high enemas a day for monthes, sometimes as much as 4 a day, and a minimum of 2, along with very intensive cleansing through diet and herbs. Believe it or not, one day I had to stop and the next day I was going twice a day on a low fiber diet. Constipation is always the sign of a compromised digestive system, mainly poor gut flora and congested liver/lack of bile. Revert that and you'll be regular as a baby, without the need of enemas.
So my advice is to continue with the enemas at the moment, even daily. Of course you need to completly change your diet. 2 liters liquids a day is NOT sufficient, aim for a gallon. Look into coffee enemas, vegetable juice fasting, liver flushing, homemade kefir and cultured foods, candida overgrowth and parasites...
For people with very severe constipation, foods and herbs will do very little, apart from stimulant laxatives like senna. You can always try first prunes (at least 10) on an empty stomach, and beet juice, and see what results you get.
