Hello everyone,
People have been asking me-what is a typical day like? First of all, we have no typical, especially lately.
I posted this blurb on Facebook so it might be a repeat for some. I thought it would save me some precious time.
Enjoy-

What is in the life of Michael and Beth. People have also been asking what a typical day is like in our life now post-accident, post Craig Rehab hospital.

Today was a bit untypical (we have no ho-hum drum typical yet), I keep saying we are in the year of hell as we adjust to life as a C5 quadriplegic.

So, Michael has been having high blood pressure scares which even ended us up in the ER in the middle of the night on Monday. Anyways, it is scary as we do not know why this is happening. They thought it was because he was constipated or had a blockage in his intestines, so we had an xray done and nothing was in there but a lot of shit. (the joke now is that Michael is "full of shit"). So we dealt with it by giving natural laxatives...which finally had an effect early this morning (millions of thanks to Todd Paulsmeyer who cleaned him up in the middle of the night!!!!!!!!). Anyways, cleaning him up kept happening throughout the morning (he kept having "invols"-involuntary bowel movements) and so I had to cancel my plans (catching up with an old friend and attending to my business).
I have only had time to myself today to do 5 minutes of yoga and then I realized I needed to care for the houseplants, which I was supposed to attend to this past weekend. I love houseplants...but today was inspired to give them all away as they are simply another demand on my time.

I spend the majority of my time now caring for others-for Michael, for plants, for my clients, etc.
I am not bitter towards Michael at all. I love him dearly and I accept this caregiver role as my spiritual practice.
I am and always wil l be angry with our situation-that a simple act-riding on that bicycle back in August of 2012, could turn our lives upside down and inside out.

Thanks to everyone who is continuing to show up in many ways. I could not do this alone and I am not. I also love and appreciate his dear caregivers that have come into our world. God bless the CNA's and PCP's and his new doctors, etc...

Okay, all for now...I have a few minutes to just be...before I do do do....

As I was typing this Michael called us (Luke Iwabuchi is here to turn him at 2:30am so I can rest-thanks Luke!) He called us in to help him-he wants to know why this happened-he wants to understand, he wants to see the bigger picture of all of this, and as Luke stated-he wants his faith to be stable. (As well as his blood pressure). Michael is asking for a sign from Spirit...as to why and to simply know that he is not alone.

So if you think of us-please pray for stability in faith and BP, please pray for a sense of ease and understanding. Pray that our life of "drudgery" begins to blossom with joy on a more regular basis.

Michael still continues to have his sense of humor. I may write more later about some of his recent antics-such as being a "sit-down comedian", but in the mean time it is 11:29pm and I still need to get ready for bed and wind down from my day.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

Hope all is well in all your worlds near and far!

Love, Beth
