I had this problem for years. I finally went to a specialist who asked me to try running a cool bath (like swimming pool temp) and add two tablespoons of chlorine bleach to it (at this concentration, it is harmless). She instructed me to take a brand new washcloth and scrub (I mean SCRUB). Get out of the bath, dry with either a brand new towel or paper towels, and get into a new outfit and then see if I had the problem still. I tried it - and the odor was gone that week. I called her the week day and she explained the reasons to me:
There are yeasts and bacteria all over you, and your warm, moist skin is the perfect breeding ground for them. When you put your clothes on, they spread into the fibers of your clothing and make your clothes smell, so just bathing in slightly chlorinated water won't work. You have to start fresh.
I don't bathe like this every day - only once a month...but it works wonders. Call your doctor and ask if you should try it.
