Garlic is a Neurotoxin. Do not use it.

If any amount gets into your blood it causes Encephalopathy. I have had it. I know first hand.

The Kefir I got at hannafords seems to work. I get really bad reactions (Herx) from it. So careful not to use too much.

You can make it though. There's a post on here about it.
