My Dad's AF - Help Please

My father was diagnosed with atrial fibrilation in June 2011. He has had his heart monitored on various occasions and been on a concoction of drugs to 'manage' the problem since.

He is currently taking:

- Bendroflumethiazide
- Atorvastatin
- Clopidogrel
- Warfarin
- Bisoprolol Fumarate

My main concern is that these drugs are seen as a management for the rest of his life. In the nearly 2 years he has been diagnosed with Afib, I only see a gradual decline in his health and mood, if anything. He can barely walk 50metres without falling completely breathless. The family has had the flu. We all got over it within a week, but my father has been suffering for nearly 3 now. I am pretty concerned for his health now, and I think he is too. All of these hospital visits and daily drugs, for no improvement in his health is crazy.

He has had a unsuccessful cardioversion and recently had a Dobutamine stress test.

I am a firm believer in using nature's best to improve health - either nutrition or supplementation.

I am a frequent visitor of the Iodine forum on curezone, and it so happens some of my reading has coincided with my fathers problem. Would any of these be problematic for him with his drugs?

- Iodine (lugols)
- Selenium (selenomethionine)
- Magnesium (malate)

Or any other information would be most welcome.
