Re: I tried living beyond organic's cultured dairy drink Amasai
You know, it is really hard to say. In my experience, true die off doesn't really happen until one has been using something for a about a week and a half to a month, depending on the person and the substance. But, when we are sick with candida, many things with antifungal properties (and things without antifungal properties as well) when ingested can overtax the system, especially the liver, and cause symptoms that are confused with die off. One of the keys for my improvement turned out to be honoring what my body is trying to tell me when I have a reaction within hours to a day or so after eating/taking something, and stop taking/eating it. I think what happens a lot of the time is people get a bad reaction, assume it is a die off, and continue taking the thing, and wind up worse and/or going in circles with never-ending "die off", which is really the body saying stop taking this right now. Look for things that make you feel BETTER when you first take them, and then a little while down the road, your body will go into a die off, which will be more of a flu-like experience, and not just a feeling of toxicity. As you go along you'll get stronger bit by bit, and you'll find you are able to handle more foods and substances. Things that your system may not have handled a few months ago you will find you can now handle, and they are even good for you and help you heal. But, the sicker you are at the outset, the slower you have to go in the beginning. Some of the things that really worked well for me to make a dent and promote a true die off were serrapeptase, Latero Flora, Nopal Cactus and taking HCL for stomach acid. (Hint: don't do the thing where you take one HCL pill, and then keep increasing the dose by one pill until you "feel the burn". I tried it that way many times, and it always backfired because I'd get to what appeared to be my tolerance level, and then soon it would be waaaay too much and I'd have to go off them completely, and then the resulting low stomach acid would foster another candida growth. I was a yo-to. So, I just kept it at 1-2 per meal and that was the right amount for me. After incorporating the above items, I was able to incorporate more and more things and got healthier and healthier. Disclaimer: This is my experience. Your mileage may vary. But, I will say, I was ill for a decade of ups and downs, and now am getting better and better.
