Re: Cortisol and Vitamin C

According to my hair analysis, I am a fast oxidizer and was therefore recommended the fast oxidizer diet. Prior to this I was vegan for 5 years, following the 80 10 10 principle pretty closely. My diet was 80% raw as well, and I ate tons of fruit. average of 4 bananas a day, plenty of apples, berries, and all the local tropical fruits down here in Florida. As a matter of fact, I have a mango tree, a starfruit tree, a grapefruit tree, and a coconut tree right in my back yard.

I absolutely love fruit and I don't agree with writing it off completely. I had to stay away from it for a while, but I am now able to eat some berries in my morning oats. I also eat green apples, and small amounts of pineapples. A banana will absolutely put me in the ground.

Eating all that meat was so hard in the beginning since I hadn't touched an animal product in so long. I felt that my liver and digestion were having a hard time with it, so I cut out the beef and stuck with chicken and turkey. I made lots of soups because I find it easier to eat the meat that way.

Even though I was such a hard core vegan, I really did feel better after starting to eat meat again. The protein kept me fuller longer, and my body finally moved out of a catabolic state. I also upped my intake of good fats like coconut oil and that really helped with many issues as well.

The best thing about the NB diet is certainly all the veggies. I always thought that the raw veggies were best for digestion, but the raw diet actually destroyed mine.

I don't do the carrot juice. I don't drink any juice at all.

I think that NB is great because it will tell you where your body is at, but like my practitioner says, there is no one blueprint for everyone. Wilson gives guidelines, but you must adjust according to your own body. There are some who do better on less meat, and some who do better on more. Experimenting and keeping a food diary is the best way to fine tune.
