I let my child watch way too much tv when she was young. It was "kid" shows - but...oy.
I was 3 in 1960 ... Mom said I had Marilyn Monroe's wiggly-slow-swaying butt down pat when I approached my dad saying, "Daaaaaaaddddyyyyy..."
When she saw my dad's eyes glaze over she said she had to muffle her desire to laugh at my antics, swat my butt, and not mock something that ONLY ADULTS are allowed to do.
...or something like that...
I learned early on that there were many things where you had to be fully-grown before you "earned the right" to do them.
Too many parents laugh at their kids' antics, where the kid KNOWS they're laughing.
It's ok - just don't let the kids know it - it confuses them...
Too many parents don't get it. You can be friendly with your kids, but you are first and foremost their PARENTS; parenthood doesn't come with a handbook, but if you consider it as the duty and privilege that it truly is then we'd all be better for it.
