Re: Fatigue, Weight loss, Can't tolerate supplements.
Wow - dayvan....ticks!! I too, 4 years ago moved to an area that is LOADED with ticks. I've been bitten regularly by then as it's just so wild here with long rushes and grasses everywhere. Despite being mindful of NEVER wearing shorts and t-shirts (we rarely get a summer in Ireland to justify it anyway!) - the little critters seem to manage to sneak into the tiniest space that isn't tucked in - waistband, and trousers ankles.
I have just recently been suspecting lyme disease as last year especially was horrendous for ticks. However i received a mighty bite from a deer tick (deer roam wild all over my fields)...that particular bite itched for ages.
I've always been on the look-out for the 'bulls-eye' rash after being bitten under the belief that a bulls-eye rash around the bite meant Lyme's.
That belief is VERY WRONG. Not all bites infected with Lyme's necessarily leave such a bulls-eye red patch.
As i've been bitten so many times i think it's wise to get checked for that virus.
It is the belief of the locals here in Ireland - when i questioned them about Lyme's that it "doesn't exist here"...so i went by local knowledge - but normally such knowledge is really ignorant chinese whispers!
I found a website all about ticks in Ireland and studies have been done on many species of ticks here to be found to have Lyme's - they specifically mentioned the area i live in. It's so very wild here with forestry, deer, long grass...not much human life!
I also understand Lyme's can be kinda dormant in the body - and flare up i suppose when the immune-system is stressed. Also i think it's another one of those diseases that just creep up on a person - so it's hard to know and guage where the imbalance lies.
I'll probably be seeing you on the Lyme forum too!
Certainly is something worth ruling out.
As i've had very high stress non stop for certainly 2 years, been bitten by ticks for 4 years, had a pneumonia-type infection 2 years ago, and also experienced long-term trauma as a child - it's hard to gauge at what point my adrenal system took a beating. Could be the lingering infection, Lyme's, shock-trauma to adrenals from childhood making them susceptible anyway....or just the horrendous stress of late caving them in!
I wish i had a GP on my side who was just as curious as myself to try to find what i am now so done-in with all these symptoms. I've looked for naturopath's locally but they're mostly nutritionalists that also teach yoga, massage - that kind of alt. therapy. No-one really qualified with these issues i am dealing with.
I would highly recommend ruling-out Lyme's in your circumstances.
It is worth getting hair analysis to get an 'overall' picture of mineral imbalances. Within those results they can illuminate certain features of disease.
For instance, i use this very natural deodorant - advertising no aluminium or parabens etc.
My hair analysis showed maximum off the charts for manganese. Manganese toxicity is often mis-diagnosed as Parkinson's. I look at the ingredients just yesterday and find that this 'natural' deodorant has manganese in it!
Considering it goes on the armpit - highly absorbable area of the body...it would not surprise me if using that for 2+ years has resulted in an accumulation of manganese and thus a high hair result for that mineral.
Interestingly, the hair test shows what's been circulating in the body within the past 3 months. I had not been using this deodorant for 6 months due to cutting out ALL possible toxins - as i felt so ill. No face creams...absolutely cut all chemicals out. So the hair test shows that my body is not eliminating the manganese to have the max reading the test has for manganese.
I was an industrial painter for over 10 years - so the hair test showed a high aluminium, arsenic too. Another test i took showed mercury.
Try to think what you have been exposed to perhaps through your work..etc. My boyfriend for instance solders alot...his metal test showed up for lead in his system. That's just from breathing the fumes of lead and tin solder melting over the years, as a hobbyist.
So the hair test can be revealing and also 'jog' the memory to when you got exposed to a certain mineral that's maybe hugely elevated in your system.
I wish you huge luck in finding answers. I will write more on a techniques that's used to 'gauge' the body electronically of imbalances. My foggy-head cannot recall the name of this technology -it's similar to 'bio-feedback'... but people are discovering what elements of their system are severely suffering - it does hundreds of readings....can indicate infections etc. I'll certainly pm you about it so maybe you could find someone local to you that uses it.
I'm learning and accepting that no-one can really help me with this health condition - it's up to me to follow the rabbit down the hole! Sure - being young i'd rather be doing the things i still want to do, despite my body saying 'noooooo'...but that's where acceptance comes in. It's been easy to ignore symptoms while i was still able to 'do' stuff...even though feeling very plagued with symptoms. I am the typical example of not heading 'prevention is better than cure'. So while you can and still enjoy driving, and engaging in life - take that bull that's hiding by the horns and you'll make great progress on the journey of recovery.
PS For Lyme's i've read Semento is exceptionally good - studies show it to be equal to
Antibiotic treatment used on Lyme patients. I was going to do a 'shock' saturation of it to my body (i.e not build up the dose little by little, go for a high dose for a few days) I don't want the bacteria to have the chance to mutate and resist the treatment.
I will get tested for Lyme's anyway. I've heard semento is excellent for de-toxing anyway - without LYme's.
Huge luck to you - here's hoping 2013 brings the answers we need :-) Keep us posted what tests reveal.
