Re: Fatigue, Weight loss, Can't tolerate supplements.
So sorry for your symptoms. I can relate to them. I've been hypoglycemic since age 28 and am 57 now.
Sugar is what made me worse and I wished I had stayed clear of it all together, but I did not over the years. And, many times, I had no effect from the sugar, but eventually it all catches up and makes adrenal stress worse, as I am in a very severe stage that I'm stuck in now.
Your blood
Sugar reading are very normal. But, a conventional doctor would say by these readings you don't have hypogly. And that is where they are dead wrong.
Symptoms by far outway the readings. Its the rate of the blood
Sugar drop that is critical.
I could have a low blood
Sugar attack and my reading would be normal, like 78 or 88.
I was as touchy as you are about the carbs. And you need some carbs, but there are simple carbs like mac and cheese, bagels, white bread. . . and there are complex carbs.
Complex carbs break down slower in the digestive track thus creating more moderate levels of glucose and insulin and the simple carbs digest quickly giving rise fo blood sugar. So you will want to stay clear of higly processed foods and white potatoes, white rice, bananas, bagels, pasta.
The higher the fiber content the better in complex carbs.
Opt for a 12 grain bread or just 1/4 cup of brown rice and add some almonds and chopped
Celery to the rice for extra fiber.
Make the protein porton of your plate 50% and the rest fiber rich vegetable like broccolli, green beans, brussel sprouts. And a piece of 10 or 12 grain toast.
My husband and I still split a baked potato now and than, but it's a small one and I scoop out much of the potato and we eat more of the potato skin with some potato adhered to that. This is great with butter and some cheese in the middle and than bake it.
Hope this helps some. A good night time snack to tie your blood sugar over is "sugar free, plain Greek Yogurt." it is high in protein and has the right balance for protein and carbs.
Take care, Paulette
