My cortisol is high....

So I decided to do a 9am blood cortisol just for interest and it came out high. There was no stress at the time of the test.

721nmol/L – (basal reference range 171-536)

This goes against much of what I experience….

- Electrolyte imbalance
- Hypoglycemia
- Occasional low BP
- Destabilising symptoms during diarrhea
- Frequent urination

But might explain the following…

- Supplement sensitivity and feeling wired all the time (adrenal sups all stimulatory)
- Inability to nap during the day for the last 4 years
- 3 hours sleep a night
- Sympathetic dominant

I’m devastated about being so sick and not being strong enough to detox my gut or liver, but still apparently pumping out shed loads of cortisol. Also wondering that I’m not particularly craving salt and that my electrolytes might be with potassium instead.

Is there any further investigation that might be warranted? From what I’ve read you can’t induce Cushing’s naturally.

I have a saliva test that I shall do as well and will post the results.

Many thanks,
