I usually have a glass of water before bed and my urine is always clear in the morning with very little colour - maybe light straw colour. It only goes yellow when I have not had enough water in the previous few hours. In summer, I can drink lots, but if it is very hot my urine is still yellow. In winter I almost never have yellow urine and often it is so clear I cannot see any colour.
It was always that way in my younger days when I was down the pub and after a couple of hours of drinking beer my urine was very clear.
I always associated strong urine colour with dehydration. Is that not the normal case? Do people actually have strong urine colour despite the amount of water they drink? In the forces they used to drill it into soldiers that yellow urine means not enough water.
