Three biggest cons against birth control pills and IUD

The birth control pill, the birth control patch, the IUD and similar birth control products work in three ways:

1. They can prevent the release of an egg from the ovary (ovulation). However, while using such products, women can and do experience breakthrough ovulation, meaning that an egg is released from the ovary and is available to be fertilized by the sperm.

2. They also cause the cervical mucus to thicken, making it difficult for the sperm to reach the egg. However, it is still possible for the sperm to break through the mucus and fertilize the egg.

3. They also change the lining of the uterus. This makes it difficult—if not impossible—for the five- to seven-day-old baby to attach to the lining, where he/she would receive the nourishment needed to grow. If the baby does not successfully attach to the lining, he/she dies and is expelled from the body during menstruation. This process is known as a chemical abortion. The fact that it can occur as a result of taking hormonal contraceptives is why such products are referred to as abortifacient.

Because of above - I always have recommended Natural Family Planning methods as the best not only for health but also for relationship - optionally there are also a lot of NFP devices like fertility computers (Lady-Comp, Persona Monitor, etc...which are really great)...
