Re: Home Remedies and asthma - End experiments

Here's the big deal. My experiments on myself have ended since I was only hours away from a trip to the emergency room.

Bottom Line Up Front:
===============================
Note: There are just 4 classes of Asthma medications that I will be discussing:

1) "Short Acting Inhaler" that immediately open airways but do nothing for the phlegm or inflammation, called the emergency inhaler. Not to be used more than 3 times a week.
2) "Long Acting Inhaler" that clears the phlegm & the inflammation over a period of weeks but does nothing to open the airways. Does NOTHING in an emergency.. Should be taken 2 times daily to keep the phlegm inflamation away.
3) The NEW Combination Drugs that do both Long & Short acting at the same time should be taken 2 times daily. Ideally take a puff during an attack. The short acting "Emergency" inhaler Ventolin should also be used as needed.
4) The dangerous Steroids that clear out the phlegm & inflammation in just a few days. Start with a high dose and reduce the dose each day for 1 week.

Summary: If anyone tries to use the Short Acting “Emergency” inhaler by itself every day, the lungs WILL go into a downward spiral & eventually clog up with phlegm + inflammation, resulting in a trip to the emergency room.

===============================================
Since I stopped taking the 2 times daily "preventive" Corticosteroids inhaler" (Flovent) my asthma attacks very slowly spiraled worse & worse until I was just hours away from the hospital emergency room. No amount of Ventolin could reverse the downward spiral, and each puff of Ventolin brought shorter & less relief. My lungs had slowly filled with so much mucous & inflamation that I could barely breath, and each puff of Ventolin ended up making the asthma worse. All natural remedies discussed in this thread had totally failed. I review the efforts:NATURAL “REMEDIES” do not work.

* A 2 ounce mister bottle with distilled water & drops of iodine. Breath in the mist. No effect at all.

* A Nebulizer to atomise distilled water to get humidity into the lungs. This sounded like a great idea, but actually made Mr. Asthma go into a RAGE and I ended up in painful coughing spasms every time. No phlegm came out.

* Above but with the distilled water/iodine drops mix into the nebulizer = Asthma into an even greater rage !!

* Apple Cider Vinegar with Honey. Yukky it did nothing but taste bad. Mr. Asthma could care less.

* Aromatic Treatemnts using Oregeno essential oils & Oregeno softgels = Smells good, but Mr. Asthma unimpressed.

* Other essential oils such as Eucalyptus, Tee Tree Oil, Rosemary all the same. Smelled good but Mr. Asthma could care less.

* Steam Therapy with & without essential oils. This always ended up enraging Mr. Asthma with painful attacks.

* the one that did show some barely minimal improvement was The Buteyko Method of Lung Exercise. There may be some hope here, but NOT when I was in a slow Asthma Death Spiral. I will give this another try when I am once again breathing normally.

* Buteyko Breathing Exercisor ( breathing through a bottle of water) could not be used at all because my asthma was in advanced stages. Seems like a good idea after my lungs have been cleared. I'll report on this one later.

Today I threw in the towel and went to visit my real doctor for help. She knew all about the mess I was in, and said that I was literally hours away from the Emergency Room.

* She started out with a HUGE shot of Steroids to the Butt. This alone gave me a sigh of relief because I could now at least walk slowly without coughing.
* Next the Rx for the Steroid Pills that are reduced in dosage each day for a week.
* Up next was the Rx for the Dual Acting Singulair/Montelukast (10mg, 100 Pills) and an Rx for the newer dual acting inhaler Dulera.

YAY! The downward death spiral is broken and I'm recovering fast.

BOTTOM LINE
======================
When I am back to normal I plan to be smarter at managing my asthma. Once we get asthma, we have it for life, no one knows why. The best we can do is manage it. My management plan is to take the medication if and when I need it:

1) Measure my breath with a Peak Breath Flow Meter to determine if I need the "Long Acting" Steroid inhaler at all. When the peak flow reading begins falling, then it is time to start using the inhaler such as this one.

I have recently gone for as long as 3 years without any medications at all. My asthma is normally mild & rare when controlled properly.
2) Continue using the Short Acting Emergency Ventolin inhaler as required in case of Exercise Induced Asthma. I should not need this more than a few times a year.

==========================
We realize that the inhalers cause asthma to get worse and eventually, kill the person.

They lower the immune system, just as carbohydrate consumption does and they are highly addictive.

If u read the book, "How I Reversed My Mom's Emphysema" u will find that your asthma is due to a fungal infection.

Fungal infections cannot be stopped until all mercury, including amalgams, are out of the body.

Then, u can build up your gut flora, take iodine, keep your D levels optimum and reverse asthma.

It is the heavy metals that fungus eats and must be removed before any antifungals will work.

Thanks, Paraboy. I do need to get rid of my mercury amalgums
and do the chelation therapy.

So that is the latest,
Grizz
