Re: Is this adrenal fatigue?
Yep you sound similar to many of us here. The adrenal fatigue, though, is a symptom not the cause of all this. Adrenal fatigue is a symptom of being "stuck" in a sympathetic state (nervous system).
How did this happen? Well usually when your nervous system gets excited and goes into sympathetic, once the stressor is gone, your brain will down regulate itself right? That's what happens with normal people. Something scares them and then a few minutes later they are back to normal. What I believe happened with most of us here is that we went through a period of extreme stress, either voluntary or not, and our body "froze" itself and we are stuck in this state.
Most of the time you only feel some of the symptoms because your mind has suppressed most of it. Your body will slowly "unfreeze" itself over time. That is if you let it. If you freak out about everything then you will get worse (insomnia, feeling wired, sensitivity to cold, etc).
I can go on and on but that is enough info for now. What is this condition called? PTSD.
