**Get a Blood Glucose Meter to confirm Hypoglycemia or not**
I should have mentioned this in my original post for those wondering if they have hypoglycemia or Toxic Hunger.
Get a simple home blood glucose meter from the drug store to monitor your blood
Sugar to confirm if you have hypoglycemia, or not.
Here's a
list of different ways to check your blood glucose levels. With a home blood glucose meter, I recommend you check your glucose levels
all these three ways*:
1) Fasting blood
Sugar (FBS) -- basically first thing in the morning after not eating or drinking for at least 8 hours
2) 2-hour postprandial blood
Sugar -- basically 2 hours after eating or drinking
3) Random blood sugar (RBS) -- checking anytime you wish.
(*I trust these three methods more than doing a doctor initiated Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (
doing an 8-12 hr fast, then getting a series of blood glucose measurements taken after you drink a sweet liquid that contains glucose), because a lot of practitioners question the accuracy of that kind of test because the test is done different depending how the doctor does it and it's an absolutely
horrible test to have to do.)
GLUCOSE LEVELS (depending where you read)
--------------------------------------------------
Blood glucose should basically be between: 70 and 140 mg/dL
Healthy levels are between: 90 - 120 mg/dl
Healthy fasting levels are between: 70 and 100 mg/dL
Below 70 mg/dL is considered "low."
Serious low levels are: 40 mg/dl for women, 50 mg/dl for men
--------------------------------------------------
If using the glucose meter confirms you don't have hypoglycemia, Toxic Hunger should be your first suspect as to what is causing your hypoglycemic-like symptoms.
