parasites in blood are malaria type or the babesia that we can get in a tick bite; yes you can see parasites in blood, but if you saw one coming out of your body it is not the test you must have but a stool sample test to look if you have eggs fo these bugs or the bugs themselves; better to get a wide open lab that a specific because they might not see any again...
Not good to hear the Dr gave up on you but maybe this is a good sign so you treat for parasites and maybe it is Lyme Disease and not Lupus? the misdiagnose is so huge with Lupus it is more probable you don't have it? Anyways research about Lyme Disease;

and I would recommend you to consider treating for parasites with herbs, with Castor oil to clean the intestines and medicines called anthelmintics which are antiparasitics and from them Ivermectin once a week for long term until your symptoms subside is my choice because it is what has helped me! :)
