No, as a general rule homemade silver is not as good as the better commercial solutions.  However, in most instances you can simply use more of it.  The thing is, homemade or commercial, almost all of those solutions are actually mostly ionic silver with only a small amount of true colloidal silver.  Ionic silver is great for topical use but not as good as colloidal silver when it comes to internal use because it is not as readily absorbed into the blood stream and it also has a difficult time making it past stomach acid where the HCL causes the silver to turn into silver chloride.  The only two superior true colloidal silver products I know of are Purest Colloids Mesosilver and CureZone Sponsor Utopia Silver's Advanced Colloidal Silver.
