Re: I'm cured and this is how I did it!

I don't necessarily agree. It's not like everyone that has EC has picked or ripped the skin off for extended periods of time. I, for example, started getting EC three months ago. Of course, in the beginning, I would take the white skin off thinking nothing about it, but I pretty much quit after a few days or so, because it wouldn't stop building up. The affected area was still pretty small back then. By now, it has "spread" to affect a very big part of my bottom lip, and also on the top lip. I did not extensivly rip, bite or pick skin off for it to take that long to heal.

I have left my lips alone as much as possible for somewhat like two months now, and I'm not yet seeing any improvements. So it might be that in some cases "many layers of skin need to be rebuild", but I really don't think so. I rather think that each peeling cycle might be a necessary step towards healing... regardless of how many layers of skin are rebuild... And if the lips don't heal by leaving them alone (even when leaving them for months or years), then it just might be something else that's causing EC, some kind of contact dermatitis to polution in the air, some kind of internal disease (although I also don't think that it would only affect the lips) or whatever... who knows! It is not the same thing for everyone here..
