MD incompetence is often largely due to MD ignorance
Much of the incompetence of MD's is due to ignorance. Medical schools largest source of funding comes from the pharmaceutical industry and the curriculum is set by the AMA. Not surprisingly, given the profit motive that drives "maim-stream" medicine, doctors are taught that the way to treat illness is to either prescribe patented drugs made by the pharmaceutical industry or else perform medical procedures which are the exlusive domain of the mainstream medical profession. Teaching about the role of proper diet and nutrition is almost non-existent.
Similarly, not much attention is given to the importance of physical activity and management of stress (unless it is in the form of prescribing drugs to relieve stress). Herbs and other natural healing items which are not patented, controlled and profited from by maim-stream medicine are scarcely addressed in medical school education either - and when they are addressed it is generally negatively. The maim-stream medical profession views our private bodies as their exclusive domain. The sad reality is that we are treated not as humans to be healed but rather as profit centers symptoms are managed with unnatural drugs whose side effects lead to even more drugs and treatments in a never-ending cycle.
OK, off my soapbox . . .
Magnesium deficiency is linked to a wealth of health problems including cardiovascular problems - and it is estimated that anywhere from a minimum of 70% to as many as 95% of us are deficient in magnesium. Magnesium, aptly referred to as the "master mineral", is necessary for the proper functioning of over 300 different body processes. Besides green leafy vegetables, I get magnesium from three different sources: A Hans Nepper formuila called Membrane Complex, transdermal magnesium oil and occasional epsom salts baths.
In addition to magnesium, if you have not tried it, I highly recommend hawthorn berry syrup for atrial fibrillation. Cayenne pepper is exceptionally good for the cardiovascular system. Co-enzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is another heart essential - and it is worth noting that natural production of CoQ10 declines as we age and is also greatly suppressed by damnable statin drugs.
