In response to your many thoughts:
I always go with what my body tells me, rather than following strictly my doctors -- they do not live in my body, therefor they can not know for certain how the "standard" treatments make me feel. Never regretted doing that, even though I would listen to their opinion. I would however only apply what I think appropriate for me. Could you be clearing Synthroid - synthetic analog of T4 -, giving you body signals it doesn't need more TSH, T3 and T4 for the moment? Just a thought...
My friend cleared stretch marks and wrinkles with daily hard-brush brushing ... so it inspired me to at least do it 3x a week. Maybe you could try that.
I am sort of modest expert on knees, since I had knee problems for a long time. Does IT band stretching help you? It does help me, together with Adductor muscles strengthening and relaxation massage on the Quadriceps. I do it myself. I also started feeling the good effects of Kombucha - makes my knees recover better.
