Re: Proper diet and neuroimmume disease
I think the current evidence of an XMRV virus being the cause of
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome is almost non-existent. The XMRV research has not been replicated, and I think the credibility of the researcher who "discovered" it is in question.
This is not to say that the cause of
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome won't ultimately be shown to be a virus of some sort, but right now I don't personally believe it is.
Also, I want to comment on all this "alkaline the body" talk which in my opinion is damaging many people. There are so many cons on the internet telling you things about candida loves acid etc., so you need to alkanize your body. this is complete made up stuff meant to extract some money from you for some supplement.
If you read the research on candida, which I have a strong belief is partially, if not totally, responsible for CFS, it loves alkaline environments. It hates acid. So this is exactly the opposite of what you are being told. You know what else, if you think you are eating a "good" diet because you eat beans and high fiber food...guess what? Candida loves to feast on those things too.
So my own path to healing has been to eliminate\limit carbs of almost any sort for extended periods. Very very hard to do by the way. Breakfast: egg beaters with butter. Lunch: half cup white rice, broccoli, chicken more butter. Dinner: chicken and more broccoli or some other low fiber vegetable.
This has been my diet for years with moderate variation. Now I can function at some reasonable level. I also take some supplements like Vitamin D, Rhodiola has helped...
Please take care of yourself and listen to your body. Get outside and get some sun. Read the real research and don't listen to random unknown and unqualified people on the internet, including me...instead read the research papers.
