That's the most sensible thing to do.  Depending on where the OP lives - the best bet is to go to their county health department and see if they will diagnose it.  Most all of them have this service available and can even diagnose HIV in 60 seconds.  They also keep your records private.  If the OP starts treating it with anything, it can easily hide what it really is and can do more harm than good in the long run.
