Re: has anyones doctors admitted that their iuds could be the problem

My daughter has seen too many doctors to count and been to several hospitals, seen a variety of specialists etc and has had just about every test there is in the last year+. A lot of Dr's we have dealt with initially said 'no the mirena can't cause that' you must have...... MS, or mastocytosis, or Guillian Berret, or some other autoimmune disease and countless other diseases - all which were ruled out, but finally after a 10 day stay in the hospital, prior to being sent home a Dr/Pain Management specialist came in and said "you need to get the Mirena IUD out, there are a lot of unexplained pain syndromes being reported/associated with the Mirena" - our Immunologist/Allergy Dr also said initially he felt like the Mirena 'could' be causing all her problems (extreme neuropathy in legs/hands/feet, hairloss, blurred vision/left eye vision loss, bone/joint pain, migraines, difficulty walking/weakness, anaphylaxis episodes, hives, breathing difficulties, anxiety, confusion etc) and when most symptoms sudsided after a month or so after removal, he contacted the FDA and reported that he believed the Mirena was definately the cause of her health problems - but out of all the Doctors most have just listened and ran more tests, and said they are normal and then refer us to another Dr. Our PCP says 'I can't say it isn't the Mirena that is causing all this, but I can't say it isn't either'. But we have had 2 Doctors that flat out have said it IS the Mirena. 5 months post removal and though she continues to have flare ups and still takes a lot of medications, she is doing better and actually functioning now, though has good days and bad and major vision loss. But pretty much the Dr's now just continue to give us the run around and send us back and forth and no one can tell us how to fix the damage that the Mirena has done. If that info helps any. If you look at the FDA adverse reaction reports, there have been over 10,000 complaints in the last year or so I believe, and when you read them you just can't believe how this thing is still on the market and being marketed like crazy! If only we could go back in time. Best wishes everyone.
