has anyones doctors admitted that their iuds could be the problem

when I went in and spoke to my ob/gyn, who i consider really great, she listens to what I say. I told her about the neuropathy and the polycystic ovarian syndrome that the er diagnosed me with back in august, and the sharp pain that I feel in my lower abdomen, she said we should get the iud out, I was planning on that anyway. I asked her if the iud was the cause of my symptoms, she said it could be some of it. She told me that I don't match the normal criteria for the polycystic ovarian syndrome but she felt something on my left side during the pelvic exam, so she ordered an ultrasound. I'm just wondering why no one has thought or told me to get the mirena removed when the symptoms first started.
