Another thing that is important. Chris Hyslop at New Vitality claims to have actually measured the current in the blood, and if you have them on the same wrist or ankle (instead of wrist to wrist, or ankle to ankle) to little current will go down in the blood. This is due to the fact that the current will take the easiest way and it will only go through the skin in order to reach the other pole. Thus, even if you have the right amount of ampere you still need to have it wrist to wrist.
