Re: I'm back to start another WF session for Lent :)
Hi fasting.now,
Thanks for replying!
I hope "waterhead" isn't too silly but that's how I know I'm going to feel so...
I'm not doing this for Lent, not being religious myself, though a huge admirer of Jesus and Ghandi and other great visionaries who were expert fasters. This Lent comment was the string that was going today when I was looking around the internet, and you sound like someone I can relate to. If others find their purpose by doing it for Lent, then that's excellent and fine with me.
Yes, I'm going to prepare also with some high fiber, low cal days to get things cleaned out, I hope. I'm partly motivated by feeling gross since an over-indulgent Super Bowl Party with my over-indulgent friends. We are all getting fat and unhealthy. I remember fasting back in my younger days - I would just stop eating anything but
Celery whenever my clothes got tight and it worked fine. Sometimes I'd go more than a week. But I married into a foodie family and my husband freaked out when I stopped eating. His mom also. She's a nurse, so was able to convince me that I was doing something terrible. She's got lots of problems now in her old age - obesity, diabetes, blood pressure etc etc. so I regret believing her and I've decided that getting fat is much more terrible than getting a little dizzy for a few days. I'm glad I've looked for support, because it's going to be hard to face my friends and family. They are all about eating and drinking, but they are also fun and great cooks...
Have you ever fasted before?
My fridge is stocked with carrots, celery, corn and spinach.
So far today - 2 carrots, 3
Celery sticks and a handful of raisins. Plus a couple cups of coffee and LOTS of water. I'm a little worried about going cold turkey off caffeine.
What are you doing to prepare?
