5th Chakra/Thyroid Reaction

A good friend of mine who I have known for many years has become hyperthyroid and has Graves' disease. I placed my Lapis Lazuli on the middle of the front of her neck, one night, and began visualizing her chakra opening and spinning while I sent a light, translucent blue into it.
She reached up and moved the crystal down (closer to her actual thyroid gland, at the neck "pocket"), and I felt a somewhat rapid and very, very strong pulse or heartbeat there. She moved the stone so that I could feel it.
She then said it felt "weird" or that she was uncomfortable with the rapid pulse felt at the thyroid gland.
On the positive side, I got an immediate and strong reaction as soon as I started visualizing the color into the chakra.
I was trying to calm the chakra/gland. Did I do something wrong?
