Re: Still crashing :(

Hi sweetie! you are most certainly not alone and this site has helped me not feel so alone and crazy when I was going through the worst of it. I'm 25 years old and had the mirena as I like to call the devil in for 3 years. I started having trouble sleeping, concentrating and just being happy. I have always prided myself on my sunny dispostion but it slowly started turning so dark. I decided to get it removed the middle of june 2011. Took 3 months to have my period after removal and then things got really ugly! I'm 5 1/2 months post mirena and it gets better. I have found after seeing a hormone specialist that any synthetic hormones which are all birth controls can cause major harm. One of the biggest things most women that have had these side effects have in common is not enough natural progesterone. Birth control especially mirena, suppresses our ability to make our own progesterone. Google the importance of having enough of it is. I highly recommend natural usp progesterone cream and recommend this site to everyone : http://www.Progesteronetherapy.com
Furthermore, on the opposite note how bad it is to be estrogen dominant. Women need to have periods and ovulate to produce progesterone, as we know mirena suppresses ovulation to prevent pregnancy. hence no progesterone. I suffered insomnia like days of no sleep at all, panic/anxiety attacks, heart palpitaions, headaches, burning skin, dry eyes, dry mouth, hot flashes, night sweats, and digestive problems, horrible cramps and clotting. On my bad days which were most, It was hard to get out of bed. I would cry all the time because I thought about killing myself if I continued to feel this way :( So you are not alone and it will get better. You do have to slowly try getting some excercise, I started by taking a little walk once around the block but today I went on a 2 mile walk and have started doing pilates again :) Make sure you are taking enough vitamins and eating a diet filled with good nutrients because it does help! Good luck on your road to recovery and if you need to talk just message me because we all know one of the feelings is pure isolation. Unless you've been through this you can't understand it. Take care and hang in there! :D
