My AC came back even with using Lotrimin AF. I am not certain if I even have Angular cheilitis or something bacterial and not fungal. I can deduce this to being related to my hair follicles since that is where it seems most affected however this is only slightly the case since my whole mouth is affected. I found relief by using MetroCream; Active ingredient: metronidazole. I am not aware if this is available as a generic or how much it cost without some type of health care or low income program but for me it was $5 so I don't think it should be too much cause my health care plan is free and I live in the states (Thanks Obama!). I got instant relief from this medication and I could feel it burning like the dish soap but not nearly as intense and it really helped with the strange icky tingling and of course not to mention the redness. It is a cream for facial redness which is in layman's terms what we have. I do still believe that mine is related to a pathogenic form of yeast infecting my hair follicles (tinea barbae) cause it gets worse when I shave and much worse when I drink any form of ethanol alcohol or high concentrated sugar. If nothing else seems to be working I would most certainly try this, it is certainly within your best interest.
