Re: A thought on LF

"What is interesting though is that the metabolism of olive oil actually leads to the production of carbonic acid. So if people want to claim that the "liver flushes" promote alkalinity I would love to see some evidence of this or at least a reasonable explanation of how."

First of all, NOT ALL ACIDS ARE CREATED EQUALLY. To use healthy acids such as malic or gallic acid in a vain attempt to prove acidosis to be a myth is downright idiotic. Go ahead and do us all a favor; drink some battery acid for your health! Genius.

Second of all, different foods digest optimally in different pH ranges, not to mention the crucial enzymes which are active in one range while inhibited in another. How in the world in your pea sized brain do you blindly generalize that MORE ACID equals BETTER DIGESTION? Once again, go drink some battery acid, or better yet enough hydrochloric acid to get your stomach pH down to 1; the level of a carnivore.

read the following chart:

http://www.whale.to/a/comp.html

Stomach Acidity
CARNIVORE: Less than or equal to pH 1 with food in stomach
OMNIVORE: Less than or equal to pH 1 with food in stomach
HERBIVORE: pH 4 to 5 with food in stomach
HUMAN: pH 4 to 5 with food in stomach

The entire framework behind the practice of food combining centers around the fact that mixing foods which digest optimally in a less acidic stomach acid (such as grains) with foods that digest optimally in a more acidic stomach acid (such as meat) leads to the INCOMPELTE digestion of BOTH; resulting in FERMENTATION and PUTREFACTION. Resulting in some extremely poisonous waste products including:

-Acetyldehyde

-Ammonia

-Hydrogen Sulfide

The liver flush increases bile flow thereby improving digestion which reduces fermentation and putrefaction. Whereas your ill-advice of blindly "increasing stomach acidity" can be dangerous if not fatal if followed by someone on the same level of thinking as you who thinks 'all acids are created equal' and drinks a pint of battery acid.

Third, the colon may be in an acidic environment from 5.5 to 7.0 but this is NOT where majority of the intestinal flora live or nutrients are assimilated. The majority of nutrient assimilation occurs in the SMALL INTESTINE which has a pH of 7.0 to 9.0. By the time food enters into the large intestine, it is primarily waste product with anaerobic bacteria. Thus the colon's acidic environment to protect against certain microbes. However, without sufficient bile in the small and large intestines, the intestinal flora is incorrect and many infections, including yeast infections, tend to develop that further acidify the body. Also, without enough bile, DIGESTION IS IMPAIRED and intestinal putrefaction and fermentation of sugars increases, further acidifying the body.

Fourth, do not even think you will get away with the ridiculous preposition that olive oil leading to the formation of carbonic acid is in any way connected by any decent modicum of human reasoning against liver flushing or acidosis theory. It is well known that carbonic acid plays a fundamental role in vasodilation and the uptake and synthesis of oxygen into the cells known as the Bohr-Werigo effect. Once again, you make the imbecilic blunder of assuming your 30 minutes of google web searching and fecal-brained logic can somehow disprove a widely ackowledge and thoroughly proven practice that has helped millions of people.

Consider yourself officially put to shame.
