Re: infectious disease & mental symptoms
David, what blood test did they do? Things like B12 levels, oesinophils, WBC, MCV etc are not conclusive for parasites. For a number of the more elusive species they need to do specific antigen tests/Elisa tests.
I had many blood/stool/colonoscopy done and nothing showed up. Especially as I had been self treating for months with herbs.
Antigen tests indicate whether your body has sometime had to produce antigens to combat a specific pathogen. it does not prove you have it now...but it indicates you have at some point in time.
unfortunately the medical profession only seem able to interpret lab results! And then it all comes down to probabilities as far as they are concerned...
Like if you tested postive for a specific antigen, and your oesinophils are raised ...then there is a possibility....and only a possibility you have a parasite!
I had a postive result from an Elisa test for strongyloides, and all the symptoms....but my respiratory doc is still in denial that that could be the reason for a chronic cough for 5 yrs....
its a constant battle!
