Nettle leaf is great stuff. The leaves are vitamin and mineral rich, antihistamine and support the liver, kidneys, adrenals, thyroid, hair, nails, bones, teeth, skin, etc.
For anyone collecting it make sure to keep your skin covered to prevent a "nettle rash". I cut the plants down and let them wilt a little then take them home and let them wilt some more. Then I pull all the leaves off and spread them out to dry. As the nettle wilts it starts to lose its sting and the sting completely disappears upon drying or cooking (sometimes eaten as a spinach substitute).
Generally I use the powder, but I do love the taste of nettle leaf tea. I mix in a little lemon grass and a touch of stevia then steep the tea over night until it is almost black. Then I drink it throughout the day as an iced tea, YUM!!!
