Re: Baking soda in water...Good idea? I feel sick...

I agree...not worth it to try and convince him if his mind is made up, but more than worth it to try and let others see through the veil of natural health that has been covered over an allopathic mentality.

It is not "alllopathic mentality" it is reality mentality.  Even the alkaline supporters admit that the body maintains a narrow pH since it can only survive in a narrow pH range.  But they all they promote are alkalinizers to promote dangerous alkalosis instead of an actual pH balance.

I will say however, about a person on TPN receiving a lot of alkaline minerals does not represent the whole picture. The content of sugar in TPN is high enough to make a non diabetic person have to receive insulin. So much for any man-made, put-together bag of nutrition having enough beneficial alkaline minerals to make a point with.

Another misrepresentation.  A healthy person receiving TPN does not necessarily develop hyperglycemia.  First of all levels of dextrose in TPN vary since it is not a standard solution.  Secondly people suddenly discontinuing TPN can develop hypoglycemia since they are over secreting their own insulin in response to the dextrose.  And finally, most people receiving TPN are under a lot of stress, including pain, which has been shown to be in part responsible for the cases of hyperglycemia in patients receiving TPN.
