I listened to nutritionist Byron Richards' podcast yesterday. Besides iodine to protect the thyroid, he recommended taking lots of different kinds of antioxidants both to protect against DNA damage and to clean up after exposure to radiation. Vitamin C is a given, but he also emphasized 1) gamma-tocotrienol form of vit E, 2) lipoic acid up to 600 mg, and 3) blueberries and strawberries, which help prevent brain damage and each protect different regions of the brain. Layering these on top of an already-sound nutritional base gets the best result.
