Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
Amarie, try some anti-dandruff shampoo. (Most) of it has sulfur and/or menthol in it, which the mites apparently hate. Here in the US we have Selsun Blue or Head and Shoulders. I wouldn't recommend Head and Shoulders, however, because it has Sodium Lauryl Sulfates in it (2nd ingredient), which mites love.
As for me, I've finally come to the conclusion that I have an infestation of these buggers, too. They actually popped up when I quit smoking six months ago. I had issues with my skin years before this, but seemed to keep it under control with a simple Alpha Hydroxy Acid. I happen to believe that the mites didn't like the smoke, as well. Who knows. All I know is that ever since I quit smoking, my face is in a constant state of active
Acne eruption. Bleh.
Anyway, I've been having ear issues, too. Ringing in my ears (no, it's not a magnesium deficiency...got that covered) and just general itchiness. I ate some raw cloves of crushed garlic two weeks ago, and the next day behind my left ear, my neck, and along my jawline had broken out into a huge crop of itchy, red bumps. I sort of freaked out (because it looked so scary), but I truly believe that it was die-off of some of these creeps...maybe from my ear? I dunno. Anyway, they came to little white heads and rice-like things came out of them. Really weird. Not sure if that was Demodex corpses (from what I understand they're quite small..microscopic), but whatever it was certainly didn't like the garlic, so I'm continuing with it.
I've also been smothering my face with coconut oil when I get home from work. It seems to be helping, and keeps my skin nice and supple instead of dry and scaly. My
Acne has dropped off a bit after adding the coconut oil. My esthetician would kill me if she knew I was putting VCO on my face, but I really don't care. She sold me some $35 cleanser that once I got it home, realized the main ingredient was--you guessed it--Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Grrrrr! Oh well. My own fault.
Oh, and I also took a Borax bath tonight for the first time. We'll see how that pans out. I'm getting desperate to find a cure for these spots!
Anyway, sorry for blabbing on. Hope you're doing well with your
Iodine treatment. :-]
