Re: Qigong with Shoulder Limitations
Have you tried "Fragrant Qigong?" I was attracted to learning it since it seems to be something so many people can do, even if quite fragile. ( I wanted to teach my partner, who has some balance/walking/standing MS-type issues.)
I realize that’s not what you are dealing with. You might also try EFT for the upper body physical limitations. (I mean, to allow you to dissolve the blocks to doing the Qigong)
"Even though...(fill in the blanks with any problems or perceived problems". If EFT is new to you, check the EFT forum.) It occurred to me today that one's perception is in itself most often the greatest part of any limitation.
In that regard, once you locate the correct statement, the one that clicks, or gives you a rush, the EFT can really start working and taking down a whole forest of blocks. So you work on whatever is the current perception/sensation.
For example, say you’re tapping on all this: "even though I really feel like I can't do qigong because of...and I so want to...and, it really makes me feel... and .... I completely and totally love and accept myself and I forgive myself (and any others I perceive to be a part of this injury/problem/limitation....for whatever has led to this situation. Then you just keep tapping and verbalizing whatever is arising in your thoughts. )
Some EFT people find JUST tapping with intent for up to an hour a day, letting the mind do whatever it's doing and letting the tapping "tap in", as it were, is a very powerful practice. That's quite a long time for most of us, but you can get the sense of how deep it could go, and how many levels it could 'unblock', without one's needing to work through finding all the statements or doing any articualtion. In this case, it *works* because of the focussed combination of intent and allowing. You intend results, and you allow the process to unfold on its own. These two in tandem are profound.(as I see it)
add in *love* and forgiveness* and it's a winning combination. And doing EFT (and probably qigong) one's intuition gets stronger; as does one’s ability to discern what is shaping one’s thinking and beliefs.
I've come to see that it's the self that causes all the suffering. We forgive others, often, but then don't include ourselves in that forgiveness. I know you didn't ask all this, but it seems to come up in response to your question.
as to the body stopping you, I no longer believe in any limits, regardless of how we've come to believe they are "the facts". Everything is possible.
Hope that helps.
