Swallowing water into lungs

With my gerd, I sometimes swallow so that liquid or small solids get down in my lungs. I have had pneumonia about 4-5 months ago, although I'm not sure it was due to aspiration. Does anyone else have experience with this and are there any supplements that might fight off infection down in the lung before the pneumonia can develop. My gerd is usually well controlled so I can't anticipate the "mistake". Thanks Doug Tweet
