I have a funny blended kale recipe story from very recently. My little girl has a best friend at school. So the mom invited us over for a play date. So we go over and I'm getting to know both the parents. The father is a drummer for a famous musician, but I won't say his name, or I might have to kill you all. lol just kidding. So we are all talking, and we get on the subject of diet. Their little girl has some health issues, so because of their struggles with her, they have been learning lots about health and healing. The conversation is going well, because of course that's all just right up my alley too. After being there a little while, they ask if I'm hungry. No, that's okay I said, I'm on a really strict diet. The mom says, we have a recipe for a kale smoothie! Okay that might be something I can have. What's all in it? They show me the ingredients. Uhhh, I probably need to leave off the fruit I said (fruit makes me miserable), and some of the other stuff too. I can't remember what all the recipe called for, but it ended up being just kale and cayenne in the blender. lol They said, well that won't taste good. I said that's okay, I can get down just about anything. So the mom blended it up, and then handed it to me with this awful look on her face. And then they both just watched as I swallowed it down. Great first impressions, right! Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm learning to not care what people think. I think they liked me just fine anyway. We've gotten together since then. They just expect me to be extra weird with food now :) Tweet
