Re: newbie questions :)

I think you may be a little hung up on trying to predict that Iosol may act as Lugol's if just the right number of drops is taken. It can't happen. IMO, even Lugol's and Iodoral don't act the same, and they have the same formula. 50 mg of Lugol's is 20 mg iodine and 30 mg iodide. To consider only the iodine portion of that to figure out your drops of Iosol ignores the 30 mg of iodide. And I tell you, iodide is a big player. That's why I recommended converting the entire 50-mg amount into 28 drops of Iosol. Now, can you tolerate 28 drops of Iosol? You'll tell us.

Another thing you could do would be to take your 11 drops of Iosol for the iodine, and make your own SSKI for the iodide. We've referred to making SSKI many times. Potassium iodide crystals seem to be widely available. Then you could have both your iodine and iodide. No magnets needed. Or maybe you'll just need a bit of iodine, maybe 2 drops of Iosol, and the rest SSKI. That'd be vaguely similar to the formula Trapper's made, which includes SSKI, a bit of iodine, and magnets to smooth the solution. You can even buy your own magnets -- we have pictures showing how to apply them.

In the meantime, take your Iosol and find out where it takes you. Revisit your decisions frequently.
