probably depends on whether you are talking about the person's own evil intent (guides won't help there) or the evil intentions of those who would try and sever humans from their guides. also, and I do recall discussions on this way back, we are all connected, so raising consciousness in people in general would at the same time raise your own level. one reason why the masses must be manipulated and kept in the dark for the those with intentions opposed to the creator to carry out their schemes...
