Iowaska and drug addiction

Last night in class, one of my classmates told us of participating in an experience with Iowaska over the weekend. They were led by a shaman that was visiting from Peru, someone that had a great deal of experience in this therapy.

Our teacher started discussing programs throughout the world where they are using Iowaska to help drug addiction.

My first thought about this was Peyote. But Iowaska is a different kind of animal. Similar to mind expanding drugs, but not addictive. It was intriguing, and I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this?
