Re: + Tincturing Lobelia -- Re: Tincture Making for November...Questions

Uny or Willow or anyone who knows,

I am wanting to be sure I order the right herbs/roots/whatever. Since M/R is out of lobelia, I will get them all from PB if I can. I want to make the nerve sedative, herbal calcium, and st. john's wort. I'm not sure about making lobelia also since it is so expensive. Here are my questions:

These are the herbs listed at PB:
valerian root...organically grown dried root
lobelia...organically grown seed
passionflower...organically grown dried herb
hops flower...organically grown dried strobiles whole
black cohosh root...wildcrafted dried root
blue cohosh root...wildcrafted dried root
skullcap...organically grown dried herb
wild yam root...wildcrafted dried root

Then for the herbal calcium:
horsetail...organically grown dried sterile shoots
oat straw...organically grown green dried whole plant
in milk stage.
comfrey root...organically grown dried root

Then the st. john's wort...organically grown flowering tops (at PB) AND at MR...organic st john's wort.

Can anyone give me advice on which it is I need. Are the ones I listed the correct ones to make the tincture? What is the organically grown dried herb in seed stage...for the lobelia? I imagine it is the other that I need (organically grown seed) for the lobelia. Just my luck---more expensive.

Would the amount of the lobelia compare similarly to echinacea in the bulk. I have some echinacea and was trying to get an idea of how much it would be if I ordered 3 oz of the lobelia. It is so expensive to get the whole pound.

Thanks for any answers. I'm sorry to be so much trouble. BTW, Uny I answered your e-mail.
