pain in colon after enema

I've been doing enemas successfully for 1 1/2 years now. They helped me in so many ways - words can not even describe!!

I do them once a week or once in two weeks. 2 quarts, Sea Salt water, 103 F. For about a year everything was great.
Then the following started:
several hours after the enema is done I get localized painful feeling across the entire colon (descending, transverse and ascending colon, but not as far as cecum). It is a vague, deep ache, somewhat colicky in nature. This goes on for 1-2 days. Then it all comes back to normal (until the next enema is done that is). There is no pain during the enema or right after. It might have to do something with the food reaching the colon...

I did take several breaks about 6 weeks in length. The aching comes back right after the first enema! And no discomfort or pain meanwhile whatsoever.

Should I stop doing them for longer? It's just that I am benefiting so much from this procedure...
