Forgiving/forgiveness is a long-term psychological state not a momentarily act of will; therefore to suggest someone that he/she has to 'forgive' is just a fashionable mantra.

Which would not matter except that may cause guilt in those who are not in that state. To suggest that Water Fast or chopping veggies should open us to 'forgiveness' it is utterly superficial.
