Re: Is this the Chicken Little Ranch
Thats right, prices will go up.
The best thing any nation could do right now to secure it's future in an expensive energy economy is to have renewable energy infrastructure, pumping out 25% to 50% or more of the electricity the nation uses.
Wind, waves, tidal, food friendly biodiesel, solar, etc. Renewable, with stable cost. Every nation that has reduced it's fossil fuel use is prospering - Sweden, Denmark, etc - because renewables actually are cost effective, just over a little longer time period. Do the math at 10c/KwHr for 25 bloody YEARS and wind turbines pay off handsomely.
The problem is that they don't pay for themselves for 6 or 7 years and the current financial industry standard for pay back is 3 or 4 years. Anything else is declared uneconomical.
Its a MYTH that the fossil fools would have us believe, that renewables are not economical.

But back to the top - I think CO2 does trap heat, and so if there are natural cycles at play, raising the temperature to dangerous levels for life here on earth, like another 4oC, then we should not be adding to it with more CO2. We could try sucking CO2 OUT of the air when natural cycles are warming us up dangerously. Because, we are on track for another 4oc warming, on top of the 2oC rise we have allready seen since the start of human produced CO2 levels going up.
And CO2 levels HAVE SO matched the previous rises in temperatures in earth's long history.
"No they don't. They do SO. Na-ahh. Nuh-huh" is what we have to say to each other at this great time in our history? Where's the LOVE? Lets just get off fossil fuels and call it square and go to work smiling again, OK???
