More correctly, weather has become more extreme... this is not just a simple matter of *warming* or *cooling*, though natural trends of warming and cooling throughout history should be more than obvious to anyone who went to school.

For instance in the desert SW, nighttime temperatures were the hottest ever on record this year - an *extreme*... however, this *record* is not due to *global warming*, but due almost entirely to the heat bubbles caused by hundreds of square miles of asphalt, pavement, buildings, pollution, vehicles, engines of all kinds, etc. that retain the daytime heat throughout the night rather than releasing it as the naked earth would have done.

Having lived here over 40 years, I have witnessed the weather patterns in and around the city change dramatically due to the *heat bubbles* over the metro areas that are *man made*...

5 - 10 - 20 - 30 miles out of town... the *storms* are more severe due to this phenomenon as well - the storms move *around* the city in a more *concentrated* mass... in the country... things are somewhat *normal*, though the weather patterns there have been affected as well... a *butterfly effect* if you will.

Lots of similar examples exist...

More is contributing to *weather extremes* though... as man acidifies the planet... air, water, and land... and in the process, the planet continues to lose, its ability to buffer the weather extremes (like the record overnight temperature example above), which enables weather extremes to become the norm, rather than the exception.

Then... crop failures... food and water shortages... etc. etc.

Killer floods in Pakistan and China... Killer droughts and fires in Russia, very weird killer freezes in South America, etc. etc.

India was shipping in drinking water on super tankers this year... not sure how long till a larger humanitarian crisis hits... but another few years of this and... we could witness just about anything, and perhaps everything.
