Much of the effectiveness depends on the credentials of the individual making the presentation. If they have a history of being a little whacked or fanatic, they don't get listened to, even if the topic of discussion is training wheels for a bicycle, except perhaps by the mentally weak or those near death. Successful technology transfer requires effective communication, a skill that the average JoeSchmoe lacks. Best is to resort to literature authored by respected persons in the field. If not for the plethora of same, this forum wouln't have gained any traction in the first place.
